Ingredient’s
- 500g ground beef
- ¾ cup Badia seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
- 1 French baguette
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 pinch salt, or to taste
- 1 (14-ounce) jar of spaghetti sauce
- 4 slices provolone/mozzarella cheese
Step 1
Start by preheating your oven to 175C. In a bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, and Italian seasoning. Use your hands to mix the ingredients until you form a paste. Once done, form 12 balls and place them on a baking dish. Insert the dish into the oven and let them bake for 15-20 minutes or until they’re cooked through.
Step 2
Cut your baguettes through the middle and take out some of the fleshy parts to make space for the meatballs. Spread some oil on the inside part and sprinkle some salt and Italian seasoning. Afterwards, place it on a baking tray.
Step 3
Warm the marinara sauce in a pot or pan over medium heat for 5 minutes. Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven and add them to the pan. Mix gently until every meatball is coated with sauce.
Step 4
Use a spoon to add the meatballs to the baguette/ Add them to one side, and then top them with a slice of mozzarella cheese. Put the baking tray in the oven and let them bake for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Cut into pieces and serve.
