As soon as the Now and Later candy bar was released by the Phoenix Candy Company in 1962, kids went wild. It came in as many as fourteen flavours, and each Now and Later bar consisted of a few individually wrapped squares of taffy. By choosing the name for the bar, the owner is suggesting to customers that they eat some of the taffy squares in the bar right away, but save the rest for later.
