Jarritos is a tasty brand of slightly carbonated fruit drink, made in Mexico! It was founded in 1950 by Don Francisco “El Güero” Hill, and its original flavour was actually coffee.

Yes, you heard that right. carbonated coffee. Luckily, he soon realised this wasn’t going to be popular, and switched to fruitier flavours! Their more popular second flavour was Mandarin. Then, along came Tamarind, Lime, and Fruit Punch.

The brand soon become very popular. In fact, it was being bottled and sold in 80% of Mexican states by 1960. As a result, they became the best-selling soft drink brand in the entire country!
